Place 4 - C. Warren Ferguson

Ferguson was appointed to the Place 4 Council seat on February 14, 2017 to fill the remainder of an unexpired term. He serves as a liaison to the Airport Planning Committee. Prior to being appointed to City Council, he was a member of the Kerrville Economic Improvement Corporation.


February 2017 - May 2018

Mr. Ferguson graduated from Alamo Heights High School in San Antonio and went on to receive a Bachelor's Degree in Aerospace Engineering  from the University of Texas and a Master's Degree in Aerospace Engineering from Southern Methodist University. Beyond Aerospace Engineering, his career has been involved with building information technology businesses in the US and globally. He has 54 years of business experience, including 15 years with Texas Instruments, 18 years growing his own businesses - Ferguson Map Company,UltraGraphics, Cartotech, CanTex, and Praha Data Conversion. For 5 years thereafter he did consulting, followed by 6 years with Smallworld, including President and CEO of Smallworldwide (SWLDY), until it was acquired by General Electric. He then became President & CEO of GE Network Solutions and retired from GE in 2003. He was a founder and Board Chairman of Ubisense, now listed in UK (UBI-L.) In 2006 he joined the Schreiner University staff as Senior Consultant for Cusiness and Community Relations. He was also an Adjunct instructor at Schreiner University for 7 years. Mr. Ferguson has personally worked in, or managed business operations in 88 countries. In 2006 he was awarded the Geospatial Information & Technology Association Lifetime Achievement Award in 2006 and in 2011 he was recognized as the Bill Dozier Kerrville Citizen of the Year.

Mr. Ferguson served on the Board of Trustees of Schreiner University from 1996-2005 and was the Chairman from 2000-2004. He has also served as a Director of the Western Museum of Art, the President of the Symphony of the Hills Board of Trustees and a member of the Board of Directors of Peterson Regional Medical Center. Mr. Ferguson has been a member of Rotary International since 1976. He participated in Leadership San Antonio in 1978 and served as chairman in 1980. He is presently on the Symphony of the Hills Board of Trustees.

He and his wife of 40 years, Judy, have lived in Kerrville 18 years and are active members of First Presbyterian Church. They are the parents of one son and one daughter who live in Austin and the proud grandparents of four grandsons. Together they enjoy visiting with good friends, reading, traveling, and spending time at the small family ranch Sisterdale.
