Vacation
(12 hour shift employees)  
Eligibility - 90 days of service.
0-5 yrs = 12 hours per month – max accrual 288 hours
6-10 yrs = 16 hours per month – max accrual 336 hours
11-20 yrs = 20 hours per month – max accrual 384 hours
21+ yrs = 24 hours per month – max accrual 432 hours  
Sick Leave
(12 hour shift employees) 
12 hour shift employees accrue 12 hours per month (not eligible until after 90 days of service). Maximum accrual 1,440 hours.  
Vacation
(8 hour shift employees) 
Eligibility - 90 days of service.
0-5 yrs = 8 hours per month – max accrual 192 hours
6-10 yrs = 10.66 hours per month – max accrual 224 hours
11-20 yrs = 13.33 hours per month – max accrual 256 hours
21+ yrs = 16 hours per month – max accrual 288 hours. 
Sick Leave
(8 hour shift employees) 
8 hour shift employees accrue 8 hours per month (not eligible until after 90 days of service). Maximum accrual 960 hours. 
Holidays  10 per calendar year = New Year’s Day, Good Friday, Memorial Day, 4th of July, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day, Friday after Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, Floating Holiday 
Funeral Leave  Up to 3 paid days per calendar year upon approval of Department Director. 
Medical/Dental Insurance  Shared costs by employee and city, employee premium paid 100% by city, dependent premiums paid at 70%. 
125 Cafeteria Plan  Optional, allows employee to have eligible insurance premiums deducted from paycheck on pre-tax basis. Allows for Flexible Spending Account or Dependent Care Spending Account. 
Life Insurance, Accidental Death & Dismemberment  City provides to employee only.
1X Base Annual Salary up to $50,000
Optional life and AD&D insurance available for employee and dependents. 
Retirement  Texas Municipal Retirement System “TMRS”, Mandatory for Full-time employees; Employee Contribution: 7%, City matches 2:1 with 5-year vesting  
Deferred Compensation  Optional 457 plan. 
Credit Union  Available to employees along with direct deposit. 
Fitness Center  Discounted memberships for employees and family members. 
Certificate Pay  Intermediate - $50 /month
Advanced - $75 /month
Master - $125 /month 
Tuition Reimbursement  Tuition Reimbursement assists employees in broadening their knowledge of their current position or preparing them for possible assumption of new job responsibilities within the city. As a condition of reimbursement, an employee must earn a grade of “C” or better in the course and coursework must be completed on the employee’s own time. Reimbursement will be paid as follows:
